Idyllwild Attractions and Activities
Idyllwild has a variety of interesting stores and activities.
There are only a few fun small villages to visit in the moutains in the Palm Springs – San Diego – Los Angeles area, and Idyllwild is one of the best of them. You might be able to saunter in a Sunday Morning Art festival, stopping by a café at one of the galleries, or visit the annual Jazz in the Pines festival.
Idyllwild has a fantastic family atmosphere. There are both fine restaurants and barbeque joints. The Town Center Park and Playground is one of the most popular sites for the young set, with an amazing array of playground equipment, all constructed by a team of over 100 volunteers in just four days. The park also has a 15-stop Par Course that you can use to test your endurance.
There are parades at times during the year, with the most popular being the Fourth of July. Everyone in town shows up, usually including Santa Claus.
Other evenents include the Plein Air Art Festival in September, and the Annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting event!

Downtown Idyllwild is a charming and delightful, rustic village filled with antique shops, art galleries, specialty shops, restaurants, and cafés with International and Continental foods, delicacies, and more. Spend some time leisurely strolling through our town and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding wilderness. And be sure to try a hamburger at the local Shell Station. “Best on the Hill.”
